4 Key Aspects of Orlando’s New Terminal C

For years, getting around the Orlando airport has been a headache for travelers. The airport is notorious for long lines and hectic check-ins, leaving many people frustrated. Some travelers have even expressed their disdain to us here at Carl’s Van Rentals when picking up their rentals. But, now, all of that has changed with the opening of the newest terminal: Terminal C. So, here are four of the key features we want to share with our customers.

1. More Gates

Terminal C was designed with a high volume of passengers in mind. The terminal has 15 gates and can hold up to 20 aircraft, including super jumbo, jumbo, and narrow-body jets. Conservative estimates predict that more than 12 million people will go through the new terminal each year, expanding the airport’s experience and capabilities. If you happen to be one of the lucky ones, make sure you check out all that this terminal has to offer.

2. Security & Safety Features

As you might expect with a new terminal, this new expansion features a new state-of-the-art baggage handling system, emergency response systems, a new Visual Surveillance System, a Virtual Ramp Control, and a Ramp Information Display System. All of these new features are in place to reduce taxiing time, improve passenger safety, and keep people moving as smoothly as possible.

3. Sustainable Architecture

The lush wildlife and environment of the state inspired much of the architecture throughout the new terminal. But the sustainable architecture serves a greater purpose besides passenger satisfaction. The airport has goals of reducing energy costs by 25%, reducing the use of potable water by 35%, and is committed to “using refrigerants that have minimal-to-zero global warming and ozone depletion potential.”

4. Accommodations

Finally, the new terminal is packed with local and international food and beverage brands, sure to satisfy everyone in your traveling party. There are more than 30 retailers located near the gates, including Walt Disney World, Universal Orlando, and Wine Bar George. Even the private lounges have everything passengers could want.
